S.A Music Awards Release 2022 Nomination List

The nominees for the 2022 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) were announced in Johannesburg ahead of the awards ceremont on 31 July.

Zakes Bantwini, Msaki, DJ Maphorisa and Khanyisile Mthetwa are among the nominees.

The announcement follows the release of the first batch of nominees in the Record of the Year, Music Video of the Year and SAMPRA Artist of the Year categories.

Zimbabwean artist Edgar Muzah was also nominated with Zakes Bantwini being this year’s most nominated artist with seven nods. Other artists with multiple nominations include DJ Maphorisa, De Mthuda, Mobi Dixon, Msaki, Brian Temba, Sun-El Musician, Chymamusique and Khanyisile Mthetwa.

TV reality star and musician Kelly Khumalo is also in the race for Record of the Year with Ngathwala Ngaye featuring Mondli Ngcobo.
