International headliners to grace Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo.

When spring arrives, many look to arts festivals as opportunities for socializing and networking. Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo, acclaimed by many as Zimbabwe’s leading festival, will host its 19th edition in its traditional home: the city of Bulawayo. All is set for the nation’s second-largest city to welcome arts followers and lovers from across the country. This year’s festival will be hosted from the 26th to the 30th of September and will run under the theme “Imagine It! Experience It!

The Intwasa Arts Festival is a platform that offers a unique opportunity for artists from various sectors – including fashion, film, theater, spoken word, music, dance, and literary arts – to share their talents with art aficionados. Among this year’s acclaimed acts is the international artist Vusa Mkhaya, who will headline the music stage on September 28th. On the 29th of September, the renowned Zimbabwean international music band Mokoomba will be performing at the festival, celebrating the country’s arts sector with their music that has taken them around the world.

Two of Zimbabwe’s renowned comedic talents, Q Dube and Ntando Van Moyo, are set to bring laughter to the National Gallery of Bulawayo on October 30th. As part of the festival, the duo will be performing a comedy show that will guarantee nonstop laughter and entertainment.

Fans of theater plays will have the chance to watch one of the most talked-about plays, ‘Beautiful Man’, featuring award winning actors Jasen Mphepo and Farai Borerwe, on September 29th. 

In the highly anticipated play ‘3 Sum’, directed by Memory Kumbota and written by Raisedon Baya, the Bulawayo Theatre is expected to be filled to capacity on the 30th of September. The award-winning actress Lady Tshawe will be starring among the cast, making this a performance not to be missed.

Tickets are being sold at the Intwasa Arts Festival’s office in Bulawayo, located at the National Arts Gallery studio 10.
