Today as Zimbabwe is hosting it’s first-ever Style-fashion awards, who are going to be history makes?

In the past, the Southern African country has been hosting different ceremonies in celebrating people from different sectors of industries these ceremonies include music, sports, and economics.

Comparing to numerous awards that are being hosted in Zimbabwe, the fashion sector is only celebrated during Zimbabwe Models Awards and in other Regional Awards.

However, a new baby has been born, that is meant to celebrate the fashion players of Zimbabwe under the patron, Lee Madyara, one of Zimbabwe’s fashion icons. The new baby is called Zimbabwe Style Fashion Awards.

The ceremony is being held today at the HICC (Harare International Conference Center), and the red carpet is expected to commerce at 6pm as the nominees, guests and public will be showcasing their glitz and glamorous garments and suits.

“We have to realize and acknowledge the players that have been in the industry, technically all our lifetime, for example, Bata and Paramount, these are the people who have made it and are still swimming despite the environment in which they operate in, so we really want to give them a platform to applaud them and say well done,” said Lee Madyara.

This is something new that everyone is talking about and curious who will be dressed by who during Zimbabwe’s first-ever Style Icon Fashion Awards.

The awards are founded under the roots of honouring and giving credit to fashion stylist, designers, models, influencers, bloggers and others who played a massive role in Zimbabwe’s fashion industry. Some of the big names nominated include MisRed, Passion Java, Mahendere among many others. (See list below)

Celebrating fashion in Our Environment is the theme of the event.

Lee Madyara described the awards as a movement with bright and positive future.

“This is a movement that we would like to go on and on and no stop,” she said.

Part of the sponsors of the event include Style Consultancy X Hollywood Lee, Boss Brand and Gateway stream. Some of the most hotly contested categories include, The Designer of the year, Most Fashionable male Model, Most Stylish artist of the year.
