United States based musician, businesswoman and billionaire Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin care products are flooding the African market and in Zimbabwe the beauty range was officially launched yesterday.
Rihanna, who established a skin product brand Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin in 2017, is broadening her scope to Africa.
Speaking during the Africa regional launch of the beauty and skin products at a colourful event in Harare, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said the beauty range is a clear sign that Zimbabwe is indeed open for business.
“Surely after seeing billionaires like Rihanna heeding the President’s call, surely we cannot remain sceptical. The Second Republic is serious about improving the country into an upper-middle income society. As we speak, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, South Africa and Ghana are also launching Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin. This shows that as a country we have done well in our image-building initiatives and we are indebted to her for believing in Zimbabwe as a market that will give her return on her investment,” she said.
Mrs Karen Mutasa, the partner of Nuance SSA and director of Catts Beauté Store said :
“We feel very blessed that Zimbabwe is among the countries that have been able to bring this brand and is exclusive to Catts Beautté Store. Catts is going to be the store housing Fenty makeup and beauty,” said Mutasa.
The company offers an extensive range of skin products including cleansers, toners, moisturisers, eye creams and scrubs.
A Harare resident who is also a make-up artist, Charity Mutsauri said she is excited that Rihanna’s products are now available in Zimbabwe.
” We are proud to hear that Rihanna’s makeup products will be available to us soon, but we are also worried about the exorbitant pricing,” she said.
Fenty Beauty has been available on shelves across the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore and the Middle East, as well as online shipping to more than 150 countries, thus according to the Fenty Beauty website.
