In a world where identity is often shaped by the roles we play, Damion Bracks stands out as a dynamic individual with a multifaceted persona that defies categorization. As a titleholder, model, advocate, and student, Damion’s life is a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and resilience. With a story that weaves together threads of purpose, growth, and self-discovery, Damion’s journey invites us to explore the intricacies of his life and the driving forces behind his pursuits.

TR: Can you introduce yourself to our readers and share a bit about your background and experience in modeling?
DB: My name is Damion Bracks. I am a very humble, down-to-earth and hardworking person. I always strive for greatness in everything I do, and I do it to the best of my ability. I reside in Eldorado Park Proper and currently hold the title of the very first Mr. Eldorado Park 2024. I advocate for men’s mental health, I’m a proud member of a beautiful NPO called Cancervive, and a matric student at Damelin College. I have attended modeling workshops during my time at my previous agency, Rage Models, where I learned how to walk, talk, and have confidence in myself and in everything I do.

TR: As a former Mr. Eldorado Park and Mister Gauteng, what drives your passion to compete in Mister Global SA?
DB: What drives me is my desire to amplify my impact on a national level, showcase the resilience and excellence of my community, and embrace personal growth through new challenges.

TR: You’ve appeared on several magazine covers; what’s been your most memorable experience in the modeling industry so far?
DB: One of my most memorable experiences is seeing myself on a magazine cover and reading articles about myself that reflect the hard work and dedication that brought me to this point in my life—and the fact that I get to show the excellence of the community I represent.

TR: What inspired you to go back to school to finish your matric, and how do you balance your studies with your modeling career?
DB: It felt like a desire to complete something that always felt unfinished. Education opens massive doors, and this will, in turn, create a ripple effect for others who are either battling to finish school or currently finishing school. It will give them a much-needed sense of confidence and to always know—never give up. Balancing studies with modeling isn’t difficult for me because I’ve learned how to manage my time effectively by working out a schedule to make sure I complete my daily tasks. I know that both pursuits contribute to my growth in different ways.

TR: How do you plan to use your platform as Mister Global SA to raise awareness and fight against drug and gun violence in South Africa?
DB: I would partner with anti-violence organizations by hosting outreach events, mentorship programs, and workshops for youth in vulnerable areas—with my community being one of them.

TR: Your journey in modeling is driven by a desire to learn and grow. How have you applied this mindset to your journey in Mister Global SA?
DB: This mindset allows me to navigate through my pageantry journey by learning how to connect with different audiences, shape my advocacy, and present myself in a way that resonates beyond the modeling stage.

TR: Tell us about your Brovember campaign. What inspired you to start it, and did you face any challenges or pushback, particularly when you cut off your beard?
DB: Brovember was about more than just creating change—it was rooted in personal reflection, growth, and advocacy. It was inspired by a desire to challenge perceptions of masculinity, highlight men’s health issues, and create conversations around self-image and transformation. I did not face any issues cutting my beard—it was a moment of vulnerability, a reset, and a way to spark dialogue.

TR: What was the significance of cutting off your beard during the Brovember campaign, and what message did you hope to convey?
DB: Shaving my beard was a symbolic act—a moment of shedding something familiar to spark meaningful conversations. The campaign wasn’t just about changing your appearance but about redefining perspectives on masculinity, identity, and self-expression. The message I hoped to convey was to encourage others to embrace change, step out of their comfort zones, and reflect on personal growth.

TR: You’re passionate about creating a men’s forum to discuss health challenges. Can you elaborate more?
DB: The men’s forum would be dedicated to discussing health challenges and creating a much-needed space where issues like mental well-being, fitness, nutrition, and preventive healthcare can be openly addressed without stigma or hesitation.

TR: How do you plan to address the gap of having few forums for men to speak out?
DB: By creating a dedicated space for men to share experiences, seek guidance, and access education, I would like to address this crucial gap with both compassion and consistency.
