Johannesburg showcase highlights live technology, industry insight and the power of collaboration in shaping more connected event experiences.
Johannesburg, South Africa, 19 August 2026: Go Rentals welcomed event professionals, technology specialists, industry partners and business leaders to its Event & Exhibition Showcase, presented as Event Tech Showcase 2026, on 13 and 14th August 2026 at the company’s Wynberg premises in Sandton.
Created as a platform for practical discovery and meaningful industry engagement, the showcase brought the future of event technology to life through live demonstrations, expert insights and direct interaction with solutions designed for modern events and exhibitions.
The morning began with breakfast and networking before attendees received an industry update from Glenton de Kock, CEO of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI). His address provided valuable perspective on the evolving events landscape and the opportunities emerging for organisations that continue to innovate, collaborate and adapt.
Guests then moved into an interactive exhibition environment where they could experience event and exhibition technology in action. Rather than presenting technology as a static product display, the showcase demonstrated how the right combination of equipment, technical expertise and dependable support can improve engagement, simplify delivery and create more memorable attendee experiences.
The success of Event Tech Showcase 2026 was strengthened by the support and participation of its sponsors and industry partners: Scan Display, SAACI, AV Company, Interactive AV Solutions, Conference Systems, Barmotion, Inspire Rentals, Chief Digital, Event Assist and DigiSpaceHub.
Their collective involvement brought a diverse range of knowledge, technology and specialist capabilities into one environment. It also demonstrated the depth of expertise and collaborative potential within Southern Africa’s events industry.
The programme introduced the Go Rentals Partner Programme, reinforcing the company’s commitment to building stronger relationships across the events ecosystem. The initiative is designed to connect complementary expertise, expand solution capabilities and create greater shared value for event organisers, venues, technology providers and other industry stakeholders.
“Technology is no longer simply a supporting element at an event, it has become central to how people connect, participate and experience a brand,” said Evan Berger, CEO and Founder of Go Rentals. “Our goal with this showcase was to bring the industry into one space, make the technology tangible and demonstrate what becomes possible when strong solutions are supported by the right people and partnerships.”
A key theme throughout the event was collaboration. The showcase reflected a growing industry reality: successful events are delivered by connected networks of specialists who combine technology, creativity, operational experience and dependable execution.
The event also created space for valuable conversations between industry professionals, prospective partners and organisations exploring new ways to strengthen their event capabilities. These discussions extended beyond individual products and focused on the broader role that technology, service and collaboration will play in the next generation of events.
Following the positive response to the showcase, Go Rentals sees the platform evolving into a larger industry initiative. Future editions are being positioned to provide aligned technology providers, event specialists, industry organisations, venues and sponsors with visible and meaningful roles in shaping the conversation and expanding what the platform can offer.
Event Tech Showcase 2026 ultimately delivered more than a demonstration of technology. It provided a glimpse into a more connected, collaborative and experience-led future for the events industry and established a strong foundation for the relationships and ideas that will help move that future forward.
