The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board has appointed Zimbabwe Cricket Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani as its new Deputy Chairperson, a position he will hold until November 2027.

Mukuhlani, who represents Zimbabwe Cricket on the ICC Board, succeeds Imran Khwaja following his departure from the Board.

He currently serves on the ICC Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee and the Nominations Committee, while also chairing the HR and Remuneration Committee.

His appointment comes at an important time for African cricket, with Zimbabwe preparing to co-host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 alongside South Africa and Namibia.

The tournament will return to Africa for the first time in 24 years, with Mukuhlani bringing his experience at Zimbabwe Cricket and knowledge of the region to the ICC leadership team.

His new role comes as the ICC and its Members work towards delivering the World Cup and strengthening the growth and development of cricket across the continent.
