Zimbabwean golfer Scott Vincent is hoping to represent the country again at the Olympic Games after finishing 10th overall in the latest LIV Golf season.
The 34-year-old competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which were held in 2021 after the Games were postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Vincent made history in Tokyo as he become the first Zimbabwean golfer to compete at the Olympics. He finished at the 16th position in the men’s individual competition.
He said he would like to get another chance to represent Zimbabwe at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics as he mentioned on social media.
“Playing in Tokyo was a dream,LA has come on the radar again. We’re in the qualification stage now, so any performance really helps.
“I would love the opportunity to represent Zim. I’m actually wearing my Olympic shirt today from Tokyo, so it’s an incredible honour to play for your country and represent them,”he said.
Vincent’s 10th-place finish on the LIV Golf season leaderboard comes as he looks to continue his progress towards another Olympic appearance.
The qualification process for Los Angeles 2028 is now underway, and Vincent says his performances will be important as he tries to earn a place on the Zimbabwe team.
