Denilson Musekiwa’s journey from a passionate saxophonist to a successful entrepreneur highlights a common theme where hobbies evolve into lucrative ventures without initial intent.

Born Denilson Panashe Musekiwa, a saxophone from Chitungwiza, is a notable example of how to make the instrument a source of income. He is the saxophonist of the moment when it comes to performances, particularly those that are suited to an event.

Denilson’s saxophone playing antics are making waves on social media. It’s true that there are a lot of saxophonists in the area, but Denilson stands out because he has caught on and is being recruited to play to go along with gift-giving.

Recently, he played at President Mnangagwa’s birthday celebration which proves that the guy has set his bar high.

I personally had the opportunity to meet Denilson on my baby welcome and it was an honor. Believe me, when the guy plays his saxophone you end up with tears of joy, he is very good.

That time when I met him, I asked how he started his journey and he said:

“I used to view saxophone videos on the internet. I dreamt about playing the saxophone on multiple occasions. I used YouTube tutorials to learn how to play the saxophone and began playing the piano at church in 2010, switched to the guitar in 2014, then in 2018 I began playing the saxophone.”

Before negotiating with the client, Denilson studies a certain song, demonstrating his mastery of the art of music.

He has also shared the same stage with big artistes like Jah Prayzah, Winky D, and Janet Manyowa. He has also featured with some artists such as Nyasha David on the song ‘Umthakati Wothando’.

On the other note, at first when he became popular, people used to question his unique type of dressing and some would say its a Kanye West dressing.

Denilson has managed to build a strong network, having a unique style, and actively seeking diverse performances.
