Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza has urged supporters to bring their energy to the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which is set to be hosted by Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia.

In a press statement, Raza urged cricket fans across the continent to raise their voices and showcase Africa’s passion, energy and potential as a world-class cricket host.

“Make your voices count, as you’ve always done. Make your presence felt, as you’ve always done,” he said.

His message comes as Zimbabwe prepare for a demanding tournament on home soil, with the team drawn alongside Australia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and another team yet to be confirmed. For Zimbabwe, playing in front of home supporters could provide an important boost as they take on some of the biggest names in international cricket.

Meanwhile, coach Dave Sammons in a press statement said, the team’s focus is on improving its skills and maintaining the intensity required to compete against the world’s best sides.

Sammons believes the challenge is not about mindset, but whether Zimbabwe can consistently produce the level of skill needed over long periods during matches.

The tournament will also give Zimbabwe an opportunity to showcase its cricketing facilities and its ability to host major international matches alongside South Africa and Namibia.

“Let’s have a good World Cup. Most importantly, let’s show the world that Africa can host a successful and great World Cup,” Raza said.
