President William Samoei Ruto has congratulated Kenya’s athletes following their impressive performances at the 2025 London Marathon, where the nation once again stamped its dominance on the global stage.

Sebastian Sawe led the way, claiming a magnificent victory in the men’s race. Sawe won the TCS London Marathon with a strong 2:02:27 in hot extreme conditions. His outstanding performance, President Ruto said, serves as an inspiration to aspiring sportsmen and women across the country, proving that every dream is valid.

“Congratulations Sebastian Sawe on the magnificent victory at the 2025 London Marathon,” the President said in a statement. “Your outstanding performance is an inspiration to aspiring sportsmen and women across the country, a true testament that every dream is valid.”

Alexander Mutiso also flew the Kenyan flag high, securing a strong third-place finish and reinforcing Kenya’s proud tradition of podium finishes at major international marathons.

In the women’s race, Joyciline Jepkosgei showcased immense grit and determination, finishing second after a tightly contested race. President Ruto praised her performance as a shining example of the relentless spirit and perseverance that define Kenyan athletes.

The President also paid tribute to the legendary Eliud Kipchoge, who finished sixth. “We appreciate all participants who represented us, including the legendary Eliud Kipchoge, who finished sixth, reminding us of the enduring power of perseverance and teamwork,” he said.

President Ruto concluded his message with a heartfelt salute to Team Kenya for making the nation proud once again on the global stage.
