Following the successful conclusion of the TeXpo25 event in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second capital and recognized creative hub, the city was abuzz with youthful innovation, energy, and collaboration. The event brought together a dynamic mix of young tech wizards, developers, and key players in the IT sector who gathered not just to compete, but to learn, network, and share ideas shaping the future.

Among the supporters and exhibitors was the Google Developers Group (GDG) Harare community, who proudly showcased several innovative web applications developed by their members. Taking to LinkedIn to celebrate the moment, GDG Harare wrote, “We had the privilege of showcasing some incredible web apps developed by our talented community members. A huge thank you to TeXpo Africa and Telco Broadband and Beyond for providing this platform.

Standout projects included a cutting-edge restaurant mapping web app created by developer Lyle, perfectly timed for Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) week, and an impressive UI/UX portfolio site crafted by Tonde and Quinton, highlighting the growing sophistication in local digital design and application development.

GDG Harare, part of a global network supported by Google, focuses on connecting developers and technologists to learn and grow together, often offering events, hackathons, and specialized workshops. The community fosters innovation by providing a platform where participants can explore how technology can be applied across different sectors, including science, business, and the creative industries.

Technology Expo (TeXpo), the host platform, continues to be a beacon for emerging and contemporary technologies, creating opportunities for stakeholders, educators, and students to engage with the tools and ideas redefining the way we live and work.

Dumisani Nomagugu Nkala, Managing Director of Telco Broadband and Beyond, echoed the sentiment of collaboration, posting, “Here’s to long-lasting ecosystem partnerships,” as she celebrated the synergies formed at the event.

With vibrant showcases and an ecosystem committed to nurturing talent, TeXpo25 not only highlighted Zimbabwe’s emerging tech potential but also planted seeds for lasting partnerships that could drive future innovations across Africa and beyond.
