Guangzhou, China – South Africa made history on the track, storming to gold in the men’s 4x100m relay at the World Athletics Relays with a blistering time of 37.61 seconds — the first African team ever to win the event.

Anchored by a sensational leg from Akani Simbine, the South Africans held off sprint powerhouses USA, who took silver in 37.66s, and Canada, who claimed bronze in 38.11s.

Simbine, known for his speed and consistency, delivered a stunning finish to secure the landmark victory, cementing South Africa’s place in sprinting history.
