The 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards took center stage in Cape Town, marking a historic milestone as the first-ever ceremony held in Africa. The Earthshot Prize Awards aim to recognize and support innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. The awards focus on five key areas: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate.

Winners received £1 million to scale their solutions and create a positive impact on the environment. These winners were selected from 15 finalists, all of whom demonstrated exceptional innovation and dedication to environmental sustainability.

The ceremony drew an impressive lineup of celebrities, including Prince William, Heidi Klum, Winnie Harlow, and Nomzamo Mbatha. The event also featured special performances by renowned artists Diamond Platnumz.

Last year’s ceremony was held in Boston, USA, and this year’s move to Cape Town underscores the Earthshot Prize’s commitment to global outreach and recognizing environmental innovation across continents.
