At just seven years old, Ashley Maggz Mudimu is already making waves in the modeling world, earning herself the title of Zimbabwe’s youngest modeling sensation. With her natural flair and poise, many have dubbed her a “princess” of the runway — and rightfully so.

Ashley, who hails from Rusape and currently lives in Botswana, is a Standard 2 student at Upscale Learning Center. Earlier this month, from April 10–14, she made history by becoming the youngest Zimbabwean model to grace the runway at Fashion Without Borders (FWB) South Africa, one of the region’s fastest-growing fashion showcases.

Speaking to My Afrika Magazine, Ashley shared that her journey was inspired by attending the FWB Masterclass in 2023. “Last year I went to the Fashion Without Borders Masterclass — it really motivated me to be part of Fashion Without Borders SA,” she said. “When I interacted with other kids my age, some were fashion designers, motivational speakers, and models. I told myself that in 2025 I would definitely be one of them. It was a dream come true when I was selected this year.”

Ashley proudly represented Zimbabwe as the only model from the country at the prestigious event. She modeled designs from Ndu’s Designs and Delights Designs, leaving the audience captivated by her confidence and charm.

With an impressive modeling résumé already in the works, Ashley is determined to inspire other young girls like herself. “To parents, please support us — your children. We have passion and dreams just like any other kids in the world. With your support, we will go far,” she urged.

Ashley is showing no signs of slowing down. She’s scheduled to walk in the upcoming Winter Fashion Show in Gaborone this Saturday, followed by an invitation to a Botswana Pre-Teen Fashion Show. She is also set to feature in Botswana Celebrity Magazine and will participate in Africa’s Very Important Princesses event this August in South Africa.
