
Deputy President of South Africa, Paul Mashatile, on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, delivered the official opening address of Africa’s Travel Indaba at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa.
This year, the event opened its doors from the 13th to the 15th of May. The Indaba is showcasing the widest variety of Southern Africa’s best tourism products and services. It is also offering a robust agenda featuring a diverse range of exhibitors, insightful workshops, and high-level presentations from captains of industry and experts.
Zimbabwe has seized the spotlight with a powerful and vibrant showcase that is drawing significant attention from attendees.
The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry confirmed on their social media page that Team Zimbabwe is being led by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Tongai Mnangagwa.
Minister Mnangagwa is backed by a formidable delegation of over 110 travel professionals and 42 companies, spanning every key tourism sector, as Zimbabwe proudly presents its rich and diverse heritage-based tourism products.
The official opening by South Africa’s Acting President, His Excellency Paul Mashatile, added prestige to the event. His visit to the exhibition stands affirmed the significance of regional collaboration.
Zimbabwe’s stand has become a hub of excitement, reflecting the industry’s growing momentum and its commitment to attracting global consolidators eager to experience Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is also campaigning under the slogan #Zimbho to attract international tourists.
