Los Angeles, USA – Nigerian music sensation Tems has won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards, held on February 2, 2025. Her hit song “Love Me Jeje” secured the prestigious award, marking her second Grammy victory.

Tems triumphed over a strong lineup of African music heavyweights, including Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow,” Asake’s “MMS” featuring Wizkid, Chris Brown’s “Sensational” featuring Davido & Lojay, and Burna Boy’s “Higher”. This latest accolade further cements her status as one of Africa’s leading global music exports.

Tems first made Grammy history in 2023 when she won Best Melodic Rap Performance for her collaboration with Future and Drake on the song “Wait for U”. That same year, she received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for co-writing “Lift Me Up”, the lead track for Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Since breaking onto the scene with her 2020 debut EP “For Broken Ears”, followed by “If Orange Was a Place” (2021), Tems has become a powerhouse in the global music industry. Currently signed to RCA Records USA, she continues to make waves with her distinct sound and impactful storytelling.
