Linshay, a Zimbabwean musician, blends Afro-fusion, R&B, and Soul to create her unique sound. Her musical journey began as a young girl singing in her church choir. A standout moment in her early life came when she was handpicked to perform a solo during an Easter conference, a performance that made her realize her gift for singing.

In 2015, Linshay took a bold step by participating in the talent show Starbright. Though she was eliminated in the quarterfinals, she remained determined to pursue her dream. Reflecting on that time, Linshay shared how she initially hoped the competition would be a turning point in her life, but she faced resistance from her family, who were not fully supportive of her musical ambitions. That same year, she entered the recording studio for the first time, experimenting with her sound, though her first single was never released.

It wasn’t until 2021 that Linshay officially launched her music career with the release of her debut single, Thank You, produced by LeeKay. The song was accompanied by a music video, marking her first major step into the music industry.

“In my music career, it’s not just about being recognized. I want to change society,” Linshay passionately shared. Her music tackles themes of self-identity, empowerment, and societal change. Her single Who I Am is a heartfelt plea for divine guidance in understanding one’s purpose and identity, while Rescue Me addresses the serious issues of domestic abuse and gender-based violence. The upbeat track showcases Linshay’s vocal versatility, as she sings in English, Shona, and Ndebele.

Linshay’s mission goes beyond entertainment. “My music is about women empowerment, social development, and appreciating God,” she explained. However, navigating the male-dominated music industry has been challenging for her. She has encountered creative differences with producers, but these experiences have not deterred her from continuing to hone her craft. Currently, she is working on new music and collaborating with other artists.

Outside of her musical pursuits, Linshay enjoys spending time with her family. Her YouTube channel offers a glimpse into her evolving musical journey and showcases her powerful, socially conscious art.
