Popularly known for the hit songs, ‘Baninda Igazi’ and ‘Izibusiso’ amongst others, award-winning gospel artist Sipho ‘Snowy’ Ncube has managed to change lives of many through his gospel music which is inspired by day-to-day testimonies shared by people. 

Growing up and fellowshipping at a congregation that supports empowering gospel musicians, it has played a massive role in the career of Sipho Ncube whose stage name is Snowy. 

Snowy informed this publication that most of his career achievements were nurtured by the place where he fellowships and that is where he took his first step in the music sector. 

“Harvest House Church played 90.9 percent which is a major role in my music career. As a church we have a great opportunity, that our Bishop Nyathi, organizes international concerts and during those same platforms we get opportunities to minister (perform) in front of great people some of them love our music and recognize our talent,” said Snowy. 

Snowy has featured in one of Harvest House’s prominent albums, Genesis. He led the song, ‘Baninda Igazi’ which is still trending including in international platforms such as One Gospel Channel. 

He also participated in local music internal competitions at Harvest House Church, which is known as the Clash of Choirs and has for the past two years consecutively  won, Best Male Vocalist Award. 

However, his energetic and electric performance during the stage has been debatable to many who have questioned him where he get his strength from with some, assuming that he consumes drugs.

Snowy also said that his energetic performance comes from God and praying. 

“There is no secret in my performing, some people go further to ask if I do take drugs and perhaps, I will be high on drugs. I don’t use any drug, but my secret is always praying and committing myself to God and I tell him that I am in front of Him and his people, he can use me the way he wants,” he said. 

Sipho was last year, nominated at the regional award Bulawayo at Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards, under Best Outstanding Gospel Artist category.

Despite not being able to win the award, Snowy said his greatest award was to perform during the award ceremony as it became a platform for him to minister the gospel. 

In future his eyeing to work with artist who include award winning Sonnie Badu, Janet Manyowa, Minister Mahendere and Mnqobi Nxumalo.

He further enlightened that he will be releasing his second project in September, the reason of the delay is because he has some work commitments and he however promised that the album will be a bang.
