AneUnhu Gwatidzo is a versatile performer who is both an actor and musician. He also plays various instruments. In a touching tribute paid to one of his friend, Takudzwa Matinenga, Gwatidzo was able to capture the essence of loss and create a piece of music that is both moving and heartfelt.
The song titled ‘In This Lifetime’ is a tribute to the deceased artist who passed in a tragic road accident.
Matinenga was an actor who stared in the Netflix film ‘Cook Off’ and various stage productions (he was a member of Reps Theatre where the music video of the song was filmed).
The leading vocals are warm and reassuring while leading listeners through the song’s tragic message. Lyrically the music included a number of phrases which were popularized by Matinenga.
Another powerful element to note is the music video which was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tomas Brickhill to accompany the music.
The music video boasts of various colourful and different sets all made more interesting in with the lighting effects. Various videos depicting Matinega are also gathered and played throughout the video.
