Windhoek is set to become the epicenter of Africa’s energy dialogue once again as the Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) returns for its 8th edition from 14–16 April 2026. Organized by RichAfrica Consultancy and endorsed by the Government of Namibia and the African Energy Chamber, NIEC 2026 will bring together global and regional leaders to explore investments, partnerships, and strategies shaping Namibia’s path to first oil production by 2029.

Themed “The Road to First Oil and Beyond,” this milestone edition comes at a pivotal moment in Namibia’s energy evolution. The country is emerging as one of the continent’s most promising frontiers for oil, gas, and renewable energy. Recent exploration successes by Rhino Resources, Galp Energia, and TotalEnergies have sparked a surge in investor confidence, while Namibia’s green hydrogen and solar initiatives are positioning it as a leader in sustainable energy development.

With Standard Bank Namibia and Rand Merchant Bank confirmed as Sapphire Sponsors, the conference underscores growing private-sector confidence in Namibia’s energy ecosystem. “This edition is not just another conference; it is a defining moment where we celebrate progress, confront challenges, and unlock opportunities together,” said Ndapwilapo Selma Shimutwikeni, CEO and Founder of RichAfrica Consultancy. “NIEC is a catalyst for collaboration, investment, and innovation — laying the foundations for an energy future that goes beyond first oil to deliver diversification, security, and shared prosperity.”

Since its debut in 2012, NIEC has become Namibia’s premier platform for high-level dialogue and dealmaking, attracting over 2,500 delegates from 46 countries and 1,500 companies across its editions. The 2026 program will feature plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, B2B matchmaking, and an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge technologies and investment-ready projects.

In addition to industry insights, NIEC 2026 will spotlight youth empowerment through the Future Energy Leaders Initiative and Internship Program, aimed at equipping young Namibians with the skills to thrive in a rapidly transforming energy sector.

As Namibia edges closer to its first oil milestone, NIEC 2026 promises to be more than a conference — it’s a collective step toward building a diversified, resilient, and inclusive energy future for the nation and the continent. For more information, visit www.NIEConference.com
