She is carrying Southern Africa’s landlocked country, Zimbabwe, on her shoulders. Pauline Marere is regarded as one of the best models ever nurtured in Zimbabwe. Currently, she is proudly flying her country’s flag high at the ongoing Miss Supranational competition.
Queen Marere has won the hearts of many fans this season with her captivating interviews, advocacy work, graceful catwalk, and, most notably, her stunning wardrobe.
Many have asked the same question: Who is behind Queen Pauline Marere’s wardrobe for Miss Supranational?
Speaking with My Afrika Magazine from Poland, where she is competing alongside other Miss Supranational world queens, Pauline revealed that her wardrobe is the result of a collaboration with designers from across Africa. She listed: Charlie Designs, Debaba Designs, Ishmael Tsakatsa (gowns), Ivhu Tribe (national costume), Ruelex Designs (portrait gown), and VFX Fashions, among others.
Her managing director, Ms. Ntombi Gumede, shared insight into how outfit decisions are made daily.
“Each look is selected by Pauline and myself based on the daily program. We’re on call as early as 5 a.m., checking the weather and then putting the outfits together, including accessories,” said Gumede.
“The items were designed by each designer, inspired by what we researched online—especially on Pinterest. But with Poland’s constantly changing weather, we have to adjust and assemble the looks accordingly each day.”
Speaking from Poland, Queen Marere expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to every single person, both in Zimbabwe and abroad, who has supported me from day one. I feel the love and I’m truly grateful,” she said.
“Thank you to the Miss Supranational organization for their hospitality, Miss Supranational Zimbabwe for choosing me, my family for their love and support, my sponsors for their endless commitment, and above all, God, for giving me the strength and courage to represent my country with pride on such a prestigious platform.”
The finals of Miss Supranational are set to take place this June in Poland.
Queen Pauline is eyeing two titles: the main crown, Miss Supranational 2024, and the continental title, Miss Supranational Africa. With her stunning presence and meticulously curated wardrobe, Queen Pauline is certainly one to watch.
