LAGOS, Nigeria – In a major move set to redefine Nigeria’s fuel distribution landscape, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will begin the nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom companies, aviation, and other large-scale users starting August 15, 2025.

The announcement was made through an official press statement issued by the refinery’s management on Friday. As part of the rollout, the refinery will offer free logistics support through a fleet of 4,000 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, aimed at enhancing distribution efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

To further support distribution, Dangote is investing in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) booster stations, enabling a smoother and more reliable supply chain across Nigeria.

“This marks a milestone in our vision to revolutionize Nigeria’s energy sector,” said the statement. “Our goal is to ensure that no place is left behind in making affordable and sustainable fuel accessible to all Nigerians.”

Key Highlights of the Initiative:

  • Distribution begins nationwide from August 15, 2025.
  • Free logistics support via 4,000 CNG-powered tankers and over 100 booster stations.
  • Open to all major fuel stakeholders including marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecoms, aviation, and large industrial users.
  • Credit facility for registered buyers purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres.
  • Registration and KYC verification from June 16 to August 15, 2025.

This move is expected to revitalize dormant petrol stations, boost job creation, strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and improve fuel access in underserved regions. The refinery also emphasized its role in supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing alignment with the administration’s commitment to economic growth, energy stability, and inclusive development.

The initiative is also anticipated to lower production costs, reduce inflation, and ease pressure on Nigeria’s foreign exchange market through local refining, especially under the Naira-for-Crude exchange scheme.

Interested stakeholders have been urged to complete registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification within the next 60 days. For enquiries, the refinery has provided multiple contact numbers and email channels.

As Nigeria continues to push for energy independence and economic revitalization, Dangote Petroleum Refinery positions itself as a central player in the transformation of the downstream oil sector, reaffirming its commitment to the well-being of all Nigerians.
