Kenya’s Ambitious Sports Development Plans: Talanta Sports City Groundbreaking Signals Transformation

Kenya is prioritizing sports and talent development to empower youth economically.

Upgrading facilities, like the Talanta Sports City in Nairobi, aims to position Kenya as a global sports hub and ensure the success of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

“We are investing in sports and talent development so that our youth can monetise their skills and expertise. The ongoing upgrading of our facilities will turn Kenya into a global sports powerhouse and make the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations a memorable event.” wrote President William Samoei Ruto

The stadium, set to be completed by December 2025, will feature a 60,000-seat capacity, standard athletics and football fields, and a shared rugby field.
