The highly anticipated Models Awards are a prestigious event that celebrates the outstanding achievements of models in our industry. With over 25 categories to be awarded this year, the 2nd edition of the Bulawayo Models’ Awards is a spectacular celebration of talent and dedication.

In an exclusive interview with My Afrika Magazine, Bulawayo Models Association public relations practitioner Mthokozisi Masuku revealed that this year’s ceremony will be a unique tribute to the pioneers of the modeling industry.

“This year’s edition serves as a tribute to the trailblazers who paved the way for our industry’s success. Every award is carefully crafted to honor these esteemed pioneers,” Masuku stated.

He further added that during the previous edition as organizers of the ceremony, they learned that bringing all industry players together in one room would facilitate networking opportunities for fashion players and models.

Despite the expansion of categories with the introduction of new ones, certain sectors, including MUA (Makeup Artists), bloggers, and fashion media practitioners, have raised concerns about their omission. Masuku informed My Afrika Mag that they are investigating the matter and assured that all grievances will be addressed.

“As an association, we aspire to honor all key players who are shaping the path towards modeling’s recognition as a fully established industry. While there may be challenges ahead, we believe that the industry’s trajectory will be determined by the collective efforts and decisions of its stakeholders,” stated Mthokozisi Masuku.
