I vividly remember watching Oluchi Onweagba compete in Face of Africa, which sparked my interest in modeling. Oluchi won the inaugural edition in 1998 at just 17 and subsequently moved to New York, where she signed with Elite Model Management.
She later married Italian fashion designer Luca Orlandi and had two children.
However, this story isn’t about Oluchi’s illustrious modeling career, but about her talented son, Ugo Ugochukwu. At just 17, Ugo has already made a name for himself in the racing world. He began karting at 7 and transitioned to racing at 15. Since 2020, he’s been part of the prestigious McLaren Driver Development Programme.
Ugo’s impressive racing resume includes winning the 2022 FIA British F4 championship and the 2023 Euro 4 championship. His most recent and notable achievement is winning the 2024 Macau GP FR World Cup.
This historic victory makes him the first American driver to win the Macau GP since 1981 and the first Nigerian driver to claim the title.
Oluchi proudly showcases Ugo’s accomplishments on her social media platforms, demonstrating her unwavering support for her son’s passion.
