Zimbabwe launched the Expo 2025 Osaka Zimbabwe Pavilion website and mobile application on Tuesday, March 11, marking a significant step in effectively sharing the country’s narrative, said Ambassador Albert Chimbindi, the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

The Expo 2025 Osaka Zimbabwe Pavilion website and mobile application serve as a global platform to showcase Zimbabwe’s tourism sector, attract international visitors, and forge partnerships that will drive economic growth. Speaking at the Golden Conifer in Harare, at an event attended by tourism stakeholders and government officials, Ambassador Chimbindi said: “The Expo will take place from April 13 to October 13, under the theme ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives,’ which aligns with Zimbabwe’s vision for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

Ambassador Chimbindi highlighted the crucial role of tourism in Zimbabwe’s economy, noting its significant contributions to job creation and GDP growth. He emphasized that the country’s participation in the Expo reflects its commitment to becoming a key player on the global stage by fostering a business-friendly environment and promoting international investment, trade, and tourism. He also stressed the role of the media in amplifying messages both locally and internationally, describing it as critical in building awareness and excitement ahead of the country’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka.

He added that these platforms will showcase Zimbabwe as “a nation of opportunity, progress, and innovation,” enhancing visibility and facilitating interactive engagement with potential investors, tourists, and business partners globally.

With preparations for Expo 2025 Osaka well underway, Zimbabwe aims to demonstrate its dedication to sustainable growth and innovation, attracting investment, promoting its rich cultural heritage, and highlighting its natural resources. “Through Expo 2025 Osaka, we will not only showcase our unique tourism offerings but also position Zimbabwe as a must-visit destination for international travelers,” said Ambassador Chimbindi, pointing out attractions like Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls), Great Zimbabwe, and Hwange National Park.

Mr. Hiroyuki Kumagai, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Japan, emphasized the potential of the tourism sector in promoting sustainable development in Zimbabwe.

The Expo also serves as an opportunity to highlight Zimbabwe’s commitment to sustainable tourism development and strategic partnerships within the sector.
