CJN: I have been working on a Rural Development Startup called Rural BnB and have been generating most of our concepts into short videos using AI. MM: How do you envision the unique blend of Take 5 and your comedic style influencing the project’s tone and impact?

CJN: This is not a comedy project.

MM: What specific aspects of your individual talents do you believe will shine through in this collaboration?

CJN: This project was a great opportunity to use my animation, filming, and programming to do some prompts in storytelling using artificial intelligence I believe that would give a great context on how to use this technology.

MM: Are there any unexpected challenges or delightful surprises that emerged during the creative journey of this project?

CJN: I am pretty new at using AI so some of the results in the video are quite weird. Although I feel for a first project, I am very happy with the results.

MM: Can you provide a sneak peek into the project’s themes or messages that audiences can anticipate?

CJN: The new song by Mafriq produced by Take Fizzo is a short film that makes up the music video by Carl Joshua Ncube. Using AI to produce the video Carl Joshua Presents a story about the dangers of climate change in a fantasy tale that shows a rural community in Africa that lives naturally getting destroyed by freak weather systems. Forced out of their land they wander to find a new home which leads them to a technologically advanced African city that has innovated itself from the effects of climate change and are about to embark on a space program to find a new planet. Their space program is successful, and they land on a planet that ironically looks like the African village that was destroyed by the effects of climate change. What new decisions will our African Astronauts make with this new discovery knowing what they know?

MM: How do you see this collaboration contributing to the broader cultural landscape or entertainment industry?

CJN: AI is definitely going to shift the creative process making some processes that were expensive to be cheaper to do, I see newer skillsets being required in prompt engineering or even just how far we can dream.

MM: Were there any memorable moments or anecdotes from the collaboration that stand out to you?

CJN: I just loved how open-minded Take 5 and Mafriq were to allowing me to do this as a video for them.

MM: In what ways does this project push boundaries or explore new creative territory for both Take 5 and yourself?

CJN: This project breaks the glass ceiling and gives us the scope to just do amazing things we only used to dream about

MM: How has the current cultural or societal context influenced the project’s development?

CJN: I really wanted the visuals to showcase our past present and future of our culture, beliefs, and norms.

MM: What do you hope audiences will take away or feel after experiencing the collaboration between Take 5 and Carl Joshua Ncube?

CJN: I hope that the audience will get to understand how important issues need discussing like climate action, our conversations around innovation, the need for research and being part of global conversations that ultimately will affect us in Future.
