Dr. Fezile Mkhize made history as both the first South African and the first Black model to win Mister Supranational 2024, showcasing his nation’s talent on the global stage. Living by his motto, ‘Brick by brick,’ Dr. Mkhize clinched the prestigious title.

Dr. Mkhize was considered a favorite delegate, with many on the pageant platform expecting and predicting him as the winner. Millions of Africans across the globe, even those without representatives in the competition, rallied behind Dr. Mkhize.

Mkhize’s successful journey began when he became the top model in the Supra chat category. This victory automatically placed him in the top 20, joined by delegates from various countries, including Sierra Leone, another African nation.

Dr. Mkhize, as his fans affectionately call him, was later named to the top 10, becoming the sole remaining African model. This led many to believe he might be crowned Mister Supranational Africa, but the race for the main title continued.

The announcement of the Mister Supranational 2024 Top 5 included South Africa alongside the Philippines, Venezuela, Laos, and the Netherlands. Dr. Mkhize was declared the 2024 King, with the Netherlands taking runner-up, followed by the Philippines, Venezuela, and Laos, respectively.

The 33-year-old South African is not only a medical doctor but also a television presenter and actor. This is not Dr. Mkhize’s first foray into history-making. He was the 1st runner-up at Mister World in 2019.

While some might see him following in the footsteps of Lalela Mswane, the first Black African model crowned Miss Supranational two years ago, it is important to note that Mswane emerged victorious as the 2nd runner-up at Miss Universe in 2022.

Dr. Mkhize’s win comes just a few months after South Africa said goodbye to the late Mister Supranational South Africa director, Wayne.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the Mister Supranational Organization welcomed Dr. Mkhize with open arms, stating, “Dr. Fez Mkhize, a medical doctor and television host from South Africa, was named the 8th ‘Mister Supranational’ at the conclusion of the 2024 Experience in Nowy Sącz, Lesser Poland, Poland tonight. He will take on the role as the new brand ambassador of the Mister Supranational Organization for the next year. Welcome to the ‘Supra Family,’ Fez!”
