Zimbabwean designer Danayi Madondo is taking Haus of Stone Africa to Uganda International Fashion Week 2026, adding another major African showcase to a fashion journey that has taken her from Mozambique and Nigeria to international audiences.

Madondo, the creative force behind Haus of Stone Africa, is set to showcase her work at the event, which culminates on 5 September 2026 and brings together designers from Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi and India.

Haus of Stone Africa previously showcased at Mozambique Fashion Week in 2018, GTBank Fashion Week in Nigeria in 2019, London Fashion Week in 2023, and Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025.

At the heart of Madondo’s work is a conversation between African identity, craftsmanship and contemporary design. Through Haus of Stone Africa, she has developed an aesthetic that draws on African heritage while remaining firmly connected to modern fashion.

The brand’s creative reach has also extended beyond the runway, with collaborations involving the British Council, UNDP, Wild Aid Africa and Patrick Mavros. Its fashion films have also been selected for international platforms such as the Fashion Film Festival Milano and the Bokeh Fashion Film Festival.

Her appearance comes as Uganda International Fashion Week embraces the theme “Fashion for Impact,” reflecting a wider conversation across African fashion about what happens beyond the runway and how the industry can create lasting cultural and economic value. The Kampala showcase is another opportunity to show that Zimbabwean fashion belongs not only on African runways, but in the wider global fashion conversation.
