Trailblazing Senegalese executive Aminata Kane was appointed Senior Vice President and Head of West and Central Africa at Visa, taking charge of 23 markets across the region from Visa’s strategic hubs in Abidjan, Accra, Kinshasa, and Lagos. Her appointment marks a bold move by the global payments leader to accelerate Africa’s digital financial transformation.

Kane brings a sterling track record of leadership and innovation across Africa’s telecom and fintech sectors. Most recently CEO of Orange Money Group, she oversaw mobile money, banking, and fintech operations across 17 countries, and previously led Orange Sierra Leone to market dominance and profitability. Her career began at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company, setting the stage for her rise as one of Africa’s most visionary business leaders.

An alumna of HEC Paris and MIT Sloan, and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Kane is passionate about digital inclusion, especially for women and youth.
