Afrobeats superstar Davido breaks multiple Apple Music records
Nigerian Afrobeat star David Adeleke popularly known as Davido reclaimed his number one spot at the apple music top 100 just 12 hours after Asake the self-proclaimed landlord took over the chart.
Ahamed Ololade (29) who is prominently known by his music stage name Asake is also a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter whose song ‘2:30’ has been trending across Africa recently.
According to Apple Music, it had passed every song from Davido’s new album, Timeless, as the song ‘2:30’ went to number one on Apple Music Nigeria, last week.
This happened 24hrs after the release of the album, ‘Timeless.’
‘2:30’ which is dominating the music sector in Nigeria was followed by ‘Unavailable’ by Davido and the song features Musa Keys.
On the third position was ‘Feel’ by Davido, and the 4th and 5th positions were also occupied by Davido’s songs ‘Kante and Over dem’ respectively.
Asake is signed under the label YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution.
In February this year, Asake was announced by Audiomack alongside Kizz Daniel, Snazzy the Optimist, and 1ucid as the top trending and most streamed artists.
Some of his breakthrough songs include ‘Mr Money’ and ‘Omo pe’.
Asake has worked hand in hand with artists such as Burna Boy. In 2023, he won the Male MVP award at the Sound City MVP Awards.
