Zimbabwe’s journey over the past five years has been defined by economic recovery, development milestones, and inclusive growth, with diaspora women increasingly recognised as central to the country’s transformation towards Vision 2030.

At a landmark diaspora dinner in Watford, London, Minister Monica Mutsvangwa highlighted the role of Zimbabwean women abroad in shaping the nation’s future. Her message was clear: women are not just participants but drivers of entrepreneurship, agriculture, and innovation.

Diaspora investment, Women in the UK diaspora are already investing in farming and SMEs, while others are preparing to launch new ventures. Government support: Programmes such as the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank, vocational training centres, and innovation hubs are designed to empower women with funding and skills. Social protection: The government has reaffirmed its commitment to ending gender‑based violence, child marriages, and harmful practices. Leadership inclusion: Women are increasingly promoted into leadership positions, reflecting a deliberate push for gender equality.

Minister Mutsvangwa’s words captured the spirit of empowerment: “Tonight is not just about networking; it is about building bridges that will carry us towards Vision 2030. Through connection, collaboration and empowerment, we can unlock the full potential of our nation.”

Zimbabwe’s Economic Achievements (2021–2026), The call for diaspora women’s involvement is supported by Zimbabwe’s economic progress. GDP growth: Averaging 5–7% annually, driven by agriculture recovery, mining exports, and manufacturing revival.  Inflation stabilisation: Reduced to single digits by 2026, restoring consumer confidence.

Agriculture: Climate‑smart farming under Pfumvudza/Intwasa boosted maize and wheat output to record levels.  Mining: Lithium, platinum, and gold exports surged, positioning Zimbabwe as a global energy transition player.

Energy: Hwange Unit 7 & 8 added 600MW to the grid, reducing power shortages.  Infrastructure: Road rehabilitation under the ERRP improved connectivity nationwide.

Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 seeks to transform the country into an upper‑middle‑income economy. Diaspora women are expected to play a pivotal role in:

Expanding industrialisation and value addition.

Strengthening regional trade integration.

Driving inclusive growth where women, youth, and diaspora communities are central to progress.
