Zimbabwe is preparing for another vibrant season of fashion, creativity and luxury as Zimbabwe Fashion Week returns this October, reaffirming its place as one of Africa’s rising style platforms.

Founded in 2009, the event has evolved beyond the runway into a creative hub where fashion, culture and storytelling intersect. Over the years, it has become instrumental in showcasing both established and emerging designers while amplifying Zimbabwe’s influence within the regional fashion industry.

Designers including Sarudzai Murungu, Thembani Mubochwa, Leigh Schubert and Rahima Mohamed have helped shape the platform’s identity, blending African heritage with contemporary global aesthetics.

Through initiatives such as the Young Designers Programme, Zimbabwe Fashion Week has also opened doors for emerging creatives, offering wider exposure to talents including Annie Enelesi Maliki, Natasha Mubare and Graham Larry Chabvamupero.

The platform has equally contributed to the growth of Zimbabwe’s modelling industry, connecting local talent to broader African fashion networks while championing themes of sustainability, identity and cultural preservation.

This year’s edition, running from 6–11 October, is expected to bring together designers, models, stylists, media personalities and buyers for a week-long celebration of African innovation and creativity.

Designer applications remain open until 31 July through the official Zimbabwe Fashion Week website.
