Founded by Ayotunde Fabamwo, widely known as ‘Twitch’ in the fashion world, the pageant is Africa’s top-ranked male competition, empowering participants to excel in fashion, business, and community impact.

The platform has grown significantly since its inception, fostering pride and unity across the continent. Twitch emphasized that the pageant has created opportunities for contestants to shine while contributing to charity and community-building efforts.

“The platform highlights African excellence on a global stage, fostering pride and unity across the continent,” Twitch said.

When the pageant began with just nine participating countries, it was an ambitious dream. Today, over 30 nations host national pageants, a testament to its influence and acceptance. Twitch highlighted the significance of this growth, with even lesser-represented regions like Comoros joining the competition this year.

“It’s amazing to see Mister Africa International expanding into more regions, especially with participation from North Africa. While we’re excited about this year’s numbers, we aim to encourage even more North African countries to join in the future. The diversity enriches the competition and strengthens our unity as a continent,” Twitch explained.

A hallmark of Mister Africa International is its focus on community impact. Past contestants and winners have engaged in various charitable activities, including donations to orphanages, building schools, and launching companies that benefit African communities. Twitch reiterated that the pageant’s mission is to uplift communities and foster development.

“The brand has made significant strides in showcasing its purpose, but there’s always room for growth. Through media engagement and charity initiatives, Mister Africa International has demonstrated its commitment to empowerment and community impact,” said Twitch.

This year’s event, set to take place from December 12 to 22 in Sierra Leone, promises to be a spectacular showcase of African talent. Over 20 countries are competing to succeed the reigning Mister Africa International, Eric Osaze, popularly known as Rickie Manni.

Preparations are in full swing, with the co-organizers, the MMSL team, earning praise for their seamless work.

“The preparations have been seamless, thanks to the dedicated MMSL team led by Ise. They’ve gone above and beyond to make this year’s edition truly exceptional,” Twitch acknowledged.

Sierra Leone was chosen to host the pageant to highlight Africa’s diversity and bring the event closer to different regions.

“It’s an opportunity to showcase the beauty, culture, and hospitality of Sierra Leone while engaging a new audience. This aligns with our goal of making Mister Africa International truly pan-African,” Twitch explained.

The theme for this year’s pageant, Strength and Pride, is inspired by Africa’s resilience, determination, and cultural heritage.

“Strength and Pride speaks to the courage of African men who rise above challenges while staying rooted in their identity. It’s a call to embrace our power as a continent and take pride in who we are,” Twitch elaborated.

Twitch highlighted the attributes judges will look for in the next Mister Africa International.

“The winner must embody confidence, intelligence, and a commitment to making a difference. He should be a role model with leadership qualities, entrepreneurial drive, and a passion for promoting African values. Above all, he should inspire others through his actions and represent the spirit of the continent with pride,” Twitch said.
