The Jacaranda Festival has put Zimbabwe on the map in recent years, attracting artists from around the world. All roads led to the Thorn Park Polo Club for this highly anticipated event of the year.

This past weekend was jam-packed with excitement. Freeman and Dladla Thukzin kicked off the opening night on Friday, setting the tone for a vibrant weekend. Living up to its reputation as “The City That Never Sleeps,” Harare kept the energy high.

On Saturday, the venue was filled to capacity, featuring performances by Nutty O, Cassper Nyovest, and Nigerian DJ Neptune. The DJ delivered a well-prepared set, seamlessly blending local hits from Master H, Julian King, and Nutty O with amapiano favorites.

Sunday’s festivities ran from afternoon until midnight, with standout performances by James Sakala and mbira maestro Hope Masike. Musa Keys left the crowd wanting more, while Mokoomba, often hailed as the modern-day Bundu Boys put on a world-class performance. Master H had the audience ecstatic, even bringing out Tamy Moyo to perform their hit song together. As usual, Ngoma neHosho delivered a spectacular festival.

The organized parking and clean toilets were commendable, and unlike many shows where artists are either late or absent, all performers took the stage as scheduled. The MCs kept the crowd engaged and informed, doing an excellent job. Now, we eagerly await December for Carpe Diem Episode 1.
