Zimbabwean rising star Kelis Ndhlovu is expected to shine at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers, kicking off on April 25th at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium and Tolerance Oval. With two coveted spots up for grabs for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year, teams from around the globe are gearing up for an intense competition.

Ndhlovu, an 18-year-old all-rounder, has already made a mark on the cricket scene, captaining Zimbabwe in the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2023. Her impressive left-arm orthodox spin has secured her 11 wickets in 12 games, adding to her tally of 34 T20I wickets overall.

Joining Ndhlovu on the list of players to watch is Uganda’s Immaculate Nakisuyi, known for her skill as a middle-order batter and off-spinner. With 741 runs and 30 wickets in her 59-match T20I career, Nakisuyi’s all-round abilities have been instrumental in Uganda’s recent successes. Her stellar performances in 2024, including an unbeaten 57 runs and eight wickets, highlight her importance to the team’s aspirations. As Uganda faces tough competition in Group A against Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the USA, Nakisuyi’s leadership and contributions will be crucial for their advancement in the tournament.
