
The Zimbabwe Junior Squash Championship has concluded, leaving behind a wave of excitement, camaraderie, and renewed enthusiasm for the sport. Held in Bulawayo, the tournament showcased the power of teamwork, dedication, and community spirit.
Boyd Raynars, Chairman of Zimbabwe Junior Squash, hailed the tournament as a resounding success, crediting the organizing committee, sponsors, and participants for their tireless efforts.
“A heartfelt thank you to the Bulawayo squash team for their warm hospitality and sportsmanship. It has been an honor working alongside you all,” said Raynars.
The championship was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including the Squash Rackets Association of Zimbabwe (SRAZ), Suburbs Recreation Club, Christian Brothers College, Girls College, Bulawayo Old Miltonians, Arenel Sweets, Role Retail Solutions, SATIB Insurance, Kefalos Products, Ashaway Squash, and Karakal Worldwide.
“We are truly grateful for their support during these trying times,” Raynars said. “Their assistance has been instrumental in promoting junior squash development in Zimbabwe.”
The tournament highlighted the exceptional talent of young players, who displayed outstanding sportsmanship, determination, and dedication to the sport.
“To the players, I want to say: you are all true champions and ambassadors of Zimbabwe Junior Squash. You deserve respect and recognition alongside other major sports,” said Raynars.
The event’s success was also attributed to its seamless organization and strong leadership, thanks to Tournament Director Kalpesh and Ian Engelbrecht, Matabeleland Chair.
“We appreciate the support of Suburbs Squash Club, CBC, and OM’s courts for providing excellent facilities,” said Raynars.
The championship also received live-stream coverage, thanks to the efforts of CBC and Girls College, ensuring the tournament reached a wider audience and highlighted the talent of Zimbabwe’s junior squash players.
“The live streaming and commentary were amazing!” Raynars added.
As the tournament comes to an end, excitement is already building for the next edition of the Zimbabwe Junior Squash Championship.
“Long live Zimbabwe Junior Squash! We stand together for transparency and accountability to our squash community,” Raynars declared.
