Zimbabwe’s won by five wickets against Scotland to qualify to be part of the top 12 who are on their way playing for their position to semi finals for their T20 Cricket World Cup spot.

The Chevorns joined England, New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Ireland, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and Netherlands. Team Zimbabwe made history as this became their first time to qualify to the Super 12 group.

The team that faced Scotland includes: Ervine (51),Chakabva (44), Madhevere (39),Williams (61), Raza (61),Shumba (26),Burl (50),Jongwe (41), Ngarava (26),Chatara (43),Muzarabani (29).
The Scotts won the toss and preferred to bat first.

However at the end of the day which seemed rainy, Zimbabwe beat Scotland in a relatively comfortable fashion by chasing down their target of 133 against Scotland in 18.3 overs.

Ireland and Zimbabwe won their matches against West Indies and Scotland, respectively to book their place.

Zimbabwe are placed in group 2 prominently described as the hardest group.

The Chevorns will first face off with their Southern neighbours, ‘The Proteas’ of South Africa on Monday at Hobart.

However with metrological news the match can be postponed due to heavy rain expected in the region.

For Zimbabwe which is booked along with, Netherlands, South Africa, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan will need to be in the top two of the group.
