The grand finale of Big Brother Mzansi Season 5: Umlilo is just around the corner, and the ultimate winner will walk away with a staggering R2 million in prize money.
Voting for the Season 5 champion officially opened on Sunday at 21:00 (CAT), with fans rallying behind their favorite housemates. The top five finalists still in the running are Nate, a medical orthotist from Limpopo; Nsuku, a student also from Limpopo; Sweet Guluva, a 23-year-old student from KwaZulu-Natal; Uyanda, a professional educator from the Eastern Cape; and Jojo, an entrepreneur and the current Head of House.
Last Sunday’s live eviction show saw three contestants leave the Big Brother House. Abobo secured 3.77% of the votes, Siphesihle received 5.91%, and Mshini garnered 6.7%.
All housemates were up for eviction last week, except for Uyanda, who secured a spot in the Top 5 after winning the Head of House title. Meanwhile, Sweet Guluva made history by becoming the first-ever Big Brother Mzansi contestant to win three consecutive Friday Night competitions, earning a total of R27,500 in prize money.
With the competition at its peak, social media has been abuzz with campaigns and debates as fans push for their favorites. However, this excitement has also sparked controversy, with some South African celebrities expressing frustration over excessive campaigning on their social media posts, urging fans to tone it down.
Voting polls closed on March 21st, and the contestant with the highest votes will be crowned the winner during the live grand finale on Sunday. Smash Afrika, the show’s host, will announce the Season 5 champion as they switch off the Big Brother Mzansi House lights for the final time.
Who will take home the R2 million grand prize and the title of Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 Winner? Stay tuned for Sunday’s epic showdown!
