A call is being made to Africa’s male models to take part in one of the continent’s longest-running and most-followed male pageants, Mister Africa International. The pageant was founded 13 years ago in London by the House of Twitch, under the guidance of Ayotunde Fabamwo fondly known as twitch, a Nigerian businessman and entrepreneur.

This year, the pageant is set to host its 13th edition, which will be held in an African country yet to be announced. The competition boasts at least 30 franchises from across the continent, with representation from all corners of Africa.

The current titleholder is Sunday Stephen, a model and fitness trainer originally from Uganda, now based in Germany. The first runner-up was a Nigerian model who earned the title Mister Western Africa, while Zimbabwe’s candidate was awarded Mister Southern Africa after securing the second runner-up position.
Another delegate from Uganda was named Mister East Africa, having claimed the third runner-up position.

Mister Africa International is now seeking candidates who can represent their countries while embodying masculinity, cultural pride, heritage, and leadership skills.

“From style to substance we are searching for the boldest men redefining masculinity, leadership, and culture,” said Ayotunde. He further encouraged aspiring candidates, both within and beyond the continent, to apply through their respective countries, noting this as a great opportunity for all models.

“As Mister Africa International enters another exciting season, I encourage young men across Africa, Zimbabwe, and beyond to seize this incredible opportunity. This is more than just a competition, it is a platform to showcase your talent, leadership, and drive, while representing Africa on the global stage. We are looking for confident, passionate, and purpose-driven men ready to make an impact. This could be your moment. Do not hesitate. Apply today and begin your journey,” Twitch added.

Previous winners include: Emmanuel Umoh (Nigeria), Calisah Abdulhamid (Tanzania), and Adonis Oholi (Sudan), among others. Some of these titleholders have gone on to establish schools, homes, and businesses that positively impact their communities.

To date, the only African countries that have hosted the pageant are Angola, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria.
