Zimbabwe’s cricket fans are set to be entertained this December as Ireland’s cricket senior men’s team is scheduled to be in the country for cricket tournaments.

The tour will consist of three Twenty-20 International (T20I) matches and as well as 1-day International OD1 games. All fixtures are scheduled to be held in Harare from the 7th of December until the 17th of December.

The T20I tournaments are set for 7, 9, 10th of December while the ODI fixtures tournaments will be held from the 13, 15 and 17th of December. Ireland is seeking to make a payback to the Chevron senior team after they lost during their last visit to Zimbabwe.

Some cricket fans have raised concerns about the schedule of the match which is during the rainy season. Also, some have questioned why all tournament matches are being held in Harare and not in Bulawayo. Among those who have questioned this move, is the Mayor of Bulawayo Senator David Coltart. The Mayor is popularly known as a sports, arts, and education activist.

“Can Zimbabwe Cricket advise why #Bulawayo rarely gets any of these touring teams playing here? It is unheard of in most Test nations that all matches are played at one venue,” wrote Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart.
