It was a busy week last weekend in the sports industry, first it was the muchly anticipated cricket tournament between the Chevrons and the Irish team. 

The tournament gave hope to the Zimbabwe’s men in cricket as it ended in their favor.

In the first match, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first against Ireland in the first T20I which was held at Harare Sports Club which resulted in Zimbabwe winning the first round. 

In the second match which was held at the same venue on the 14th of January, Ireland had won the toss and elected to bowl first. 

Team Zimbabwe had replaced Gary Ballance due to injury by placing Innocent Kaila in his place. 

Ireland won the match and Ross Adair starred with the bat hitting.

Meanwhile in soccer news, Masuku joins his fellow Zim soccer brothers In Botswana.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe’s team signed new players with Dembare welcoming Elvis Moyo, Aurthur Musiiwa, Tendai Matindife and Frank Masati who extended his stay with two years. 

FC Platinum signed in Jarrison Selemani who has worked with Dynamos and Cranborne before another signing was with Perfect Chikwende former Bulawayo Chiefs player. 

As for highlanders FC, they renewed their contract with Andrew Tandi.  

Nqobizitha Masuku has left Highlanders to join Botswana Premier Soccer League’s side Jwaneng Galaxy on an undisclosed contract.

Masuku who was one of Highlanders stand out players last season, links up with fellow midfielder Daniel Msendami who recently made a permanent transfer to Jwaneng Galaxy after impressing at the Botswana club during a loan stint from Bosso.

Masuku joins a growing list of Zimbabwean players and coaches who are finding the Botswana Premier League financially lucrative.

At Sua Flamingoes there is Dominic Chungwa, Mcebisi Moyo, Tendayi Nyumasi and Cleopas Dube, Masitaoka coached by Mandla ‘Lulu’ Mpofu the former Surrey striker Simbarashe Manyoni with Nico United coached by Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube having Kelvin Ndebele, Kudakwashe Tsvamuno and Tinashe Chinyani. Tau Mangwiro’s Orapa United have Kelvin Bingala and Tapiwa. Police XI FC have Tonderai Nyakuba while Takunda Sadiki and Walter Sande are at Security Systems. Former FC Platinum striker Agrippa Murimba is at Morupule Wanderers coached by Rahman Gumbo.
