Zimbabwean artist Patrick Makumbe has just unveiled a new art collection at the First Floor Gallery in Harare.

The exhibit is titled Kuva Ziso (Being an Eye). Makumbe is no stranger to the arts scene in Zimbabwe, his work is often portrayed in acrylic paint and portrays a poignant reflection on Zimbabwe’s landscape.

His work has been exhibited across the world in nations such as South Africa, South Korea, Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil.

The paintings range from the year 2016 to 2021. Some of the pieces displayed at the cozy gallery include ‘Vendors’ which portrays two women seated at a vending stall.

Another piece on showcase is titled ‘Night Out’

One piece that showcases a man walking on crutches is titled ‘The Cripple’ which is a testament to various individuals who have a disability.

The exhibit is made up of a total of twenty-one pieces which all remain true to Makumbe’s desire to portray life in Zimbabwe. The opening was well attended with multiple attendants flocking through the door to admire the paintings.
