“Being Misters of Zimbabwe King 2025 means I am ready to stand as an ambassador for the nation…”

Takudzwa Kanyai, a 22-year-old Midlands State University student, was overwhelmed with emotion as his name was announced as the Misters of Zimbabwe King 2025. His face radiated joy and jubilation as he embraced his victory.

The prestigious coronation ceremony took place last weekend at Longchen Plaza in Harare, marking the beginning of a new era for Zimbabwean male modeling.

In an exclusive interview with My Afrika Magazine, King Takudzwa described his title as more than just an achievement—it’s a responsibility.

“Being crowned Misters of Zimbabwe King 2025 proves that I am ready to serve as an ambassador for the nation. It reflects my passion, dedication, and commitment to this role. As King, I stand as the voice of the voiceless, and I must be accountable for every action I take,” he said.

When asked if he had any inkling that he would be crowned, Kanyai confidently stated that he knew the title was meant for him.

“Beyond doubt, I expected to be crowned King. My confidence reassured me that I was ready for the crown. My career moves forward, never backward, and this was a natural progression from being Mister Midlands 2024 to Misters of Zimbabwe King 2025,” he said.

Grateful for the support he received throughout his journey, he extended his appreciation to everyone who stood by him.

“I am deeply grateful to all who supported me. Your encouragement made me believe that I am truly born for greatness. Let’s continue uplifting each other—always remember, you are my family,” he added.

Event organizer Chris Ncube hailed the coronation as a resounding success, praising the team, sponsors, and media partners for making it a night to remember.

“This was our most successful season yet. The stunning casino marina set a glamorous backdrop, the lighting was perfect, and our guests dressed for a true red-carpet affair. We had attendees from all over Zimbabwe, and it was all made possible by our incredible media and production partners, Rockers Media.”

He also acknowledged the dedication of his co-director, Nyasha Shepherd Chinyuku, and the contributions of key partners such as Farai Zembeni, former Kings, and sponsors like Pretty by Sindy and Mudziyashe.

“I could go on for years naming everyone who played a role, but to all our partners—thank you!” Ncube said.

Kanyai’s first runner-up was Ryan, while Bulawayo model Nkosilathi Khumalo secured third place. The trio will now represent Zimbabwe on international platforms, competing for prestigious titles.

With their coronation, many believe this marks a new era for male modeling in Zimbabwe, showcasing the growing impact of the industry on the global stage.
