The vibrant spirit of Zimbabwean music and culture is set to ignite the heart of Europe as the Moto Moto Festival returns for its second edition on Saturday, 19 July 2025 at Odonien in Cologne, Germany.
The festival, which has quickly cemented itself as a premier platform for African and diaspora creativity, will spotlight Zimbabwean female talent, offering a dynamic blend of Afro-soul, hip-hop, and genre-defying performances that celebrate cultural pride and global artistry.
This year’s star-studded lineup includes renowned Afro-soul sensation Feli Nandi, rising vocalist Mary Anibal, genre-blending powerhouse Wowrae, and fierce Zimbabwean-German rapper Awa Khiwe, whose commanding stage presence and sharp lyrics continue to win hearts worldwide. Also joining the lineup is Munashe Lorraine, a Zimbabwean-German vocalist fusing soulful African rhythms with European influence.
A special highlight is the appearance of Nisha Ts, who finished as the runner-up in the 2025 NAMA Outstanding Breakthrough Artist (Music) category. With travel support from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ), Nisha joins the lineup in place of category winner Chillmaster, who was unable to attend.
“We are proud to support the participation of Nisha Ts,” said Mrs Gotore, deputy director at NACZ. “This collaboration marks a significant step in showcasing Zimbabwean talent to international audiences.”
Adding to the festival’s multicultural appeal are German-based artists DJ C:Mone, Albi X, DJ Blaze, and Merciless Zim, creating a rich, Afro-diasporic soundscape that bridges continents and communities.
Moto Moto 2025 will also debut a Kids Zone, introducing creative workshops and fun cultural activities to engage younger festivalgoers—making it a truly family-friendly celebration.
“Moto Moto is more than just a festival—it’s a cultural bridge,” said festival curator Plot Mhako. “And this year, we are proud to have women standing at the forefront of that bridge, representing Zimbabwe with power, pride, and passion.”
With music, connection, and celebration at its core, Moto Moto Festival 2025 promises to be an unforgettable day for lovers of African creativity in Europe—boldly flying the Zimbabwean flag in Cologne.
