Shiselweni Region, Eswatini His Majesty King Mswati III has officially inaugurated a series of transformative development projects valued at over E60 million at Hosea Inkhundla in the Shiselweni Region, marking a significant step in Eswatini’s national development and community upliftment drive.

Funded through the Regional Development Fund, the projects include the newly rebuilt and upgraded Hosea Inkhundla Centre, a clinic, a modern community hall, and nine vehicles allocated for community development officers. These initiatives are designed to enhance service delivery and improve the overall well-being of residents in the area.

During the event, His Majesty also announced the planned upgrade of the 16km Hlatsi–Sithobela–Sihlutse–Hosea–Sindzandlala–Mbulungwane road to tarred standard. The road will connect with the pipeline route linking Hlatsi and Maloma via Etjendlovu Road and further join the Siphofaneni–Siphambanweni corridor, significantly improving transport and accessibility in the region.

In a continued commitment to social welfare, the King revealed plans to construct 10 new homes for vulnerable elderly citizens under the Inkhundla as part of a nationwide housing campaign that began at Madlangempisi Inkhundla.

Hosea Inkhundla, which was one of the government facilities damaged during the 2021 social unrest, has now been fully reconstructed with upgraded facilities and enhanced security systems. The centre’s restoration symbolizes resilience and renewal in the wake of adversity.

His Majesty emphasised the importance of Eswatini’s ongoing transformation agenda, which seeks to improve livelihoods through needs-based assessments and collaborative problem-solving. He urged communities to work hand-in-hand with government in proposing and implementing effective development initiatives.

Earlier in the day, the King also presided over the official opening of Usizo Plaza, a locally owned commercial hub featuring 17 retail stores. The complex is expected to boost the local economy and create much-needed employment opportunities.

Reaffirming his commitment to national development, His Majesty reiterated that the Government remains focused on creating sustainable jobs and building inclusive communities across the Kingdom.
