Zimbabwe marks a futuristic milestone in fashion innovation with the launch of Hunhu Colectiv, the country’s first Pan-African e-commerce fashion platform. Developed by the Hunhu Council of Fashion—a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Fashion Week Trust—this dynamic digital marketplace is reimagining shopping with soul.
Rooted in the indigenous philosophy of Hunhu (“I am because we are”), Hunhu Colectiv offers global consumers ethically made fashion, accessories, and beauty products by designers from Zimbabwe and across Africa. It merges sustainability, heritage storytelling, and conscious luxury in a curated online experience.
“Hunhu Colectiv is a digital atelier,” said Rumbidzai Chirumbwana, Head of Retail and Sustainability. “It honours African craftsmanship, culture, and creativity while connecting the world to the soul of African luxury.”
The platform features brands like Shashiko, Ngano Design, Vanhu Vamwe, and Xita Designs, and ensures international delivery through a partnership with DHL. More than a marketplace, Hunhu Colectiv is a movement asking: What Should Shopping Be?
Founder Priscilla Chigariro called it a “landmark moment for Zimbabwean fashion,” highlighting the platform’s role in preserving cultural heritage and uplifting local designers through ethical, sustainable practices.
With its official launch on May 25, 2025, Hunhu Colectiv boldly places Zimbabwe on the global fashion map—where tradition, identity, and innovation converge.
