In the heart of Zimbabwe, where challenges are part of daily life, Prophet Langdale Taylor is quietly making a difference. Known not only for his spiritual guidance but also for his deep compassion, he has become a source of hope for many. Whether it’s lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or standing with people in their toughest moments, his genuine care shines through in everything he does.
My Afrika Magazine reporter Ronald Gwatidzo (RG) had an incredible conversation with Prophet Taylor (PT) discussing about his ministerial journey and how he is devoted to uplifting the less privileged.
RG: Tell me, who is Prophet Langdale Taylor?
PT: Prophet Langdale Taylor was born and raised in Zimbabwe. He is the Founder and President of Generation of Grace Ministries and the Langdale Taylor Foundation, which has made significant donations to the less privileged, orphans, and schools in Zvimba. Additionally, Prophet Taylor is one of the founders of Bamboo Zimbabwe, the only organization in the country producing bamboo seedlings.
He serves as the African Ambassador for Deying Amazing Grace, an American organization founded in Maryland in 2006 by Americans. The organization engaged Prophet Taylor after recognizing his philanthropic work in Zimbabwe and other African countries.
Prophet Taylor is a forensic prophet, gifted by God with supernatural abilities to reveal hidden truths of life. He possesses a unique anointing for great deliverance. Under his leadership, the Generation of Grace Ministries has successfully established branches in the USA, Jamaica, Grenada, and Botswana.
RG: Are you comfortable sharing your age and marital status?
PT: I am in my twenties, currently unmarried, and fully focused on my calling. Marriage requires time and commitment, and at this stage, I may not be able to balance everything. A good woman comes from God, so I am waiting on Him while dedicating myself to my God-given and ordained assignments.
RG: When did you realize that you had a calling, a prophetic calling to serve God?
PT: I realized that I had a calling from God at a very young age, around grade two. During that time, I fell seriously ill, and according to my mother, I was believed to be half-dead. In her desperation, my mother sought help from various men of God, including the great Apostle Baba Ezekiel Guti and other prominent fathers of faith at that time. One man, Pastor Jonas, told my mother that my healing would not come from the prayers of any man of God but through an act of faith, she needed to go to a mountain to pray.
Following his advice, my mother took me to a mountain in Zvimba, where she prayed and spent seven days with me. During that time, I began to recover. While we were on the mountain, she encountered people from the apostolic church who revealed to her what I was destined to become. As I grew up, my mother often reminded me of how sick I had been and the prophecy about my life’s purpose.
Despite these reminders, when I was young, I once told her I wanted to be a pastor. She disciplined me harshly, as she believed being a pastor was an excuse for laziness, despite her awareness that I was meant to serve God. What she did not realize at the time was that I truly had a calling on my life, one that would lead me to become a man of God.
RG: How has been the journey of serving God over the years?
PT: Starting was not easy, and the journey itself has not been without challenges. However, God has been faithful to me. As the church grows, it comes with new demands, including time, resources, and much more. Yet, God’s faithfulness continues to sustain us, and the church is thriving. We witness His faithfulness every day through the countless testimonies we receive. We have seen people healed from cancer, HIV, arthritis, barrenness, and even piles disappearing, just to mention a few. Truly, amazing things are happening in our church, and we give all the glory to God.
RG: Out of curiosity, how does it happen when you prophesy? Do you hear a voice or see visions?
PT: The prophetic gift is exactly that, a gift. To function in it, the gift must either possess or clothe you. Some individuals are born already clothed or possessed with this spirit, and if they come from a God-fearing family, they can be guided to the right church where the gift can be nurtured, developed, and given a platform to manifest. However, not all churches are conducive to nurturing such gifts; some may even hinder or destroy them.
RG: When did your ministry officially start and how has been the growth so far?
PT: We began as a prayer group with just five people, holding our first service on a mountain in Zimre Park, Ruwa. The second service was in Waterfalls, the third in Kuwadzana, and the fourth in Westgate. In December 2021, we secured a venue and officially launched in 2022. Since then, we have grown significantly, with over 5,000 physical followers across Zimbabwe, representing various cities. During our all-night prayer meetings and other programs, many of these followers gather, though some are unable to attend due to work schedules or family commitments. Every Sunday, we welcome hundreds of people who come to worship at our main church. However, in some cities, we currently do not have pastors to lead services, which we are actively working to address. Soon, we plan to establish gatherings every Sunday in those areas as well.
RG: What does Langdale Taylor do other than being in church?
PT: As I mentioned earlier, I am an entrepreneur with businesses outside Zimbabwe that sustain me, and I also collaborate with various organizations.
RG: Out of curiosity, our readers would like to know—did you transition to the name Langdale Taylor, or was it your birth name?
PT: Regarding my name, I was born Langdale Taylor. People who know me from Herentals College can confirm this, including the current principal, Mr. Muronzi, who was my math teacher at the time.
RG: What is your mission as an individual in the body of Christ?
PT: My mission in the body of Christ is to win souls for Christ and make an impact using every possible means. The prophetic gift I have serves one primary purpose: to win souls. It is meant to direct people to God, and while they may be drawn to me as a vessel, God always comes first in the body of Christ. I encourage the younger generation of preachers to learn the importance of honoring the fathers of faith. Find a mentor who has succeeded in ministry and sit under their guidance to learn the dynamics of ministry. This approach makes it easier to grow strong and break through in ministry. It is unnecessary to travel to Nigeria or elsewhere to seek spiritual fathers when we have great leaders and gatekeepers of the faith right here. For example, my own man of God, Prophet Uebert Angel, whom I follow and listen to, has been instrumental in shaping my ministry. We also have other great leaders like Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa and Prophet Walter Magaya, among others I have not mentioned.
RG: How would you encourage people from different walks of life who are reading this article?
PT: I would encourage people from all walks of life to seek God while they are still healthy and sound. Find a church or denomination to belong to, because tomorrow is not promised. Live your life with God in it, do not wait until you are old, as life is unpredictable, and you must be prepared to make it to heaven. I would also like to invite everyone to visit The Grace Church, popularly known as Generation of Grace Ministries. This is the church where God is actively speaking. You do not need a man who used to hear from God; you need a man who hears from God, a man who is in God’s present tense, not God’s past tense. That man is none other than Prophet Langdale Taylor. Come and receive divine direction concerning your life, your finances, and everything that matters to you, freely and with faith.
RG: How can you be reached to by those in need?
PT: People can reach us on our official social media platforms:
