Reigning Mister Supranational 2024, Dr. Fezile “Fezi” Mkhize, has officially stepped down from his role as Mister Supranational South Africa, passing the torch to his first runner-up. However, he will continue to serve in his global duties as Mister Supranational, a title he won earlier this year during a prestigious pageant in Poland.

The announcement was made during a live Instagram broadcast by the director of Mister Supranational South Africa.

“We are incredibly proud of our reigning champion, Dr. Fez Mkhize, for his remarkable achievement in being crowned Mister Supranational! Fez’s new global responsibilities have taken him to great heights, and as he fulfills his duties on the international stage, we have exciting updates for the South African journey. In light of Fez’s obligations, we are thrilled to announce that Hlumelo, our outstanding first runner-up, will now officially step in as Mister Supranational South Africa,” said the director, Me Segal.

Hlumelo Matsha, now officially Mister Supranational South Africa 2024, shared his excitement and commitment to the role, stating that he would represent the vision of Mister Supranational South Africa through his foundation, “Thetha Nam.”

“Yesterday was surreal and special as I officially took over as Mister Supranational South Africa 2024. I am grateful for this opportunity, but more importantly, I am excited about the work I will be doing alongside Asteria Group Holdings with my foundation, Thetha Nam. Our mission is to provide accessible mental health support, education, and resources to young boys and men aged 10-25, fostering a culture of emotional wellness, self-awareness, and resilience,” said Matsha.

He went on to express his gratitude for the support of the Asteria Group and its CEO, Resakahn Lord Hare, as he embarks on his new journey.

Hlumelo Matsha was previously crowned the first runner-up in the virtual Mister Supranational 2024 competition. His successor, Dr. Fezile Mkhize, made history by becoming the first Black and African model to win the Mister Supranational title in Poland this year. Mkhize’s win was no surprise, as he was a fan favorite throughout the competition.

With Mkhize’s continued global duties and Matsha stepping in to represent South Africa, the Mister Supranational legacy remains strong.
